Up for sale is a highly collectible piece of hair metal history: an authentic, late-1983 Charvel USA San Dimas custom-order electric guitar.
Verified by its four-digit neck plate (Serial #2916) and confirmed by the handwritten 1983 date in the neck pocket, this guitar comes straight from the legendary golden era of the San Dimas, California workshop.
Wood & Hardware
- Body: Classic Stratocaster-shaped alder body in a vibrant, period-correct Electric Blue Metallic finish.
- Neck: Lightning-fast maple neck with a slab rosewood fingerboard, sporting the iconic early "pointy" black headstock and vintage Charvel logo. believe to have been replaced with a era correct/ late 80s Japanese neck
- Bridge: Outfitted with an authentic, early-generation vintage Floyd Rose locking tremolo system.
- Accents: Complete with premium gold control hardware and matching gold pickup mounting rings.
Body routing looks clean, with exception of the recessed rout for the Floyd, the electronics were updated by a previous owner. It is currently loaded with a classic, high-output Jackson USA pairing: a Jackson J50B (bridge) and a Jackson J80C (neck). They sound absolutely massive and bite through any mix, making this an incredible player's guitar as-is. The volume pot is dated to the 4th week 2016, with the switch still being original. the tuners have also been replaced with jackson branded tuners.
Condition
This guitar is in great cosmetic and structural shape for an instrument over 40 years old. It shows typical light players' wear, finish swirling, few dings, and minor hardware aging consistent with its vintage status. The frets have plenty of life left, the neck is straight, and the truss rod functions perfectly. Ships with hard shell case
